The wanderers were coming in to this game off a well dersearved victory over the Magnificant 7 two weeks ago. School Certificate meant that last weeks game had to be called off so all the boys that were there were raring to go. Matt couldnt show up due to a sudden illness, but should be back by next week.
The wanderers got off to a flying start with Dean and James working well up the front and it was those two that had all the chances. Mean Machine rarley threatened Alex on goals much, but had a couple of close shots go by. Dean opened the scoring for the Wanderers tonite with a well taken goal from in front. James was next to put one in with a good pass from Dean, which James then slotted through the keepers legs. The Half time score showed how the game was going for the Mean Machine at 2-0.
But things got worse for the Mean Machine as Dean put in another one right from the kick off. He was given a superb pass and belted a rocket right pass the Mean Machine keeper. With the score at 3-0 Alex was raring for a run on the park and the Wanderers changed thier keeper to James, and Alex went up front. This change was to work in favour for the Wanderers as Alex got his first goal in futsal in a Blue shirt. Dean did all thw work and when he put the ball right in front of goal even the usual goal stopper wasn't going to miss this one as he belted it into the top of the net from a yard away. But the Wanderers wern't finished yet as Peter also got his name on the scoresheet for the first time this year, and what a goal it was. From about three metres out he kicked a brilliant shot past the keeper. The Mean Machine gave the Wanderers a little scare with three minuets to go as from directly off the kick in they put one past James, but the refferee disallowed the goal. The Wanderers backs had a good game today and will be really happy to keep a clean sheet.
Hopefully next week Matt will be back and healthy. Web site man of the match goes to Peter who showed outstanding skill all game and got his first goal. - James "Jimmy" Hurst
